Company Background

CréVinn Teoranta was founded in May 2002 with a core engineering Team from 3Com's Silicon Design Group. The Team has been together in its current offices at Manor House, Spiddal since 1998 when 3Com open its Silicon Design Center in Galway.

CréVinn has been greatly assisted by Údarás na Gaeltachta who provided grants and other invaluable startup assistance, and by the IDA who were instrumental in assisting the transition of the team from 3Com.

CréVinn received initial investment in 2002 from the Western Development Commission (WDC) which was key to enabling the startup of its Consultancy and Design Service activities.

Recently the WDC has doubled its investment to support the expansion of CréVinn's IP development Program.

On March 29th 2005, CréVinn opened a second design centre, at CityWest in Dublin, to help further enable the company to grow, as demand for our IP and Services continues to increase.

Our Name:

Apart from being derived from the names of the founders, CréVinn has a relevant meaning when examined as a combination of Irish words:
Cré: meaning Earth,
Bhinn: meaning Sweet.

Directors

The directors and founders, Tadhg Creedon and Vincent Gavin, with strong ASIC-based product-development backgrounds in DEC and 3Com, founded CréVinn in mid 2002 to bring their expertise directly to world markets.  With Tadhg and Vincent's experience in developing key technology within world-leading multi-national companies, customers will benefit from their understanding of product-delevelopment processes targeted at global markets.

 

Team

CréVinn has formed an excellent team of silicon designers, who have worked together in developing many complex and successful ASICs and FPGAs over the years, initially at 3Com and now at CréVinn. The expertise of this team is such that CréVinn can provide a top class consultancy service backed up by the ability to deliver high quality designs, correct and on time. The FLETCHER Design Methodology used by the team creates an environment for excellent team synergy providing our customers well structured designs of high integrity, yet with exceptional design turn-around times.
